- little things matter. the little details matter.
- to see more economic equality. it seems way off. can't wealth be even a little bit better spread out? that goes for food too! no one should have to go through life hungry.
- to be a mother! i feel that it's muy momento--very much the time.
Sunday, March 7
13) nora. (tafalla, navarra. spain.)
(a little look into one of my new places of employment...as you can see, God has blessed me with amazing co-workers. and new shiny views into education!)
Saturday, March 6
12) oscar. (pamplona, navarra. spain.)
- before doing anything, think!
- that everyone lived near the beach. okay. okay. seriously. that the sun would come out. not the "sun" sun. but the sunshine in people. in the world.
- i would buy a place. set it up. turn it into a bar. this great place to come together. and it would be huge!
Friday, March 5
11) karina. (condega, esteli. nicaragua.)
(i hit the jackpot with this one. ironically, right next to a casino-type game machine--which you will find in most cafes around pamplona.)
- being a mother. it opens up life to you. i am always a mother first. it feels so natural. and then with my medical studies, i realized that i could do both. and do them both well.
- world peace. it sounds almost surreal to say. but that's what i want. but to see it, we need love, and we need tolerance. a marriage of the two. we've lost our love. but to have love, you need to know how to love.
- oh! to have my own house--back in nicaragua. i'm a nationalist at heart. and have my own pharmacy there--all while distrubuting medicine to those who need it.
Thursday, March 4
10) juan. (uztehi, navarra. spain.)
(let's just say that there are two things spaniards love to do in the morning hours. read their paper while sipping and/or munching on something. and talking. but not just talking. talking with fire. with passion. and even, with a hint of madness.)
- my grandpa always says something like, "patience is a suffering uncle." it probably only makes sense to our family. it comes down to this. you need patience. or else you will suffer way too much.
- that everyone has the right to eat. it sounds so basic. so simple.
- live each day of my life to the ultimate. i don't. and i regret every day that i didn't. but now, i will try. okay. i will!
Wednesday, March 3
9) kristina. (pamplona, navarra. spain.)
(i smiled as this sweet gal poured me an Estrella--one of Spain's national beers. the same beer that i toasted to with friends and family back in the states!)
- to not let anyone step over me. never.
- equal rights for everyone. we are equal. but we don't treat each other that way. we shouldn't just see petty differences. bah!
- skydive. i would do it. i would. i would jump. i would free fall! the rush would take away all my fears.
Tuesday, March 2
8) happy. (port-au-prince, haiti.)
(the color of the outside walls reflected the colorful spirits that this man craves to see in his world--in our world.)
- to get people--to try to completely understand them--as they are. not only as i want them to be.
- equality. tolerance. that everyone has the same, equal rights to everything. especially the right to live.
- study world history in the unversity. that would be amazing. to just know the past so that i can comprend my present--and hopefully, see into the future!
Monday, March 1
7) idoia. (pamplona, navarra. spain.)
(soccer games are played--and watched--all the time. one--among many--was playing in the background as i chatted with this lady. the bell? you ring it, again and again, when your team scores a gol!)
- understand how to relate with others. always with humility. i try to be the most humble person towards others.
- that people would have a positive conscience for others. that we would just watch out for each other. that we would always have the other one's back.
- i'm not afraid of anything! i try to conquer everything. even when there are consequences! as long as my children are fed, taken care of, and healthy, i'm happy. what more do i need?
